In the beginning of the Month of Dhu al-Qa’da (14 March), when Hazrat Muhammad (Sallal lahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) was teaching his dear companion Hazrat Abu Bakr, he said, “The first part of the month of Dhu al-Qa’da is close to Qibla. It is the eid-ul-fitr, and is the best part of the month of Dhu al-Qa’da.” Hazrat Abu Bakr said: “Hazrat Muhammad (Sallal lahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said that the best part of Dhu al-Qa’da is the eid-ul-fitr.” Hazrat Muhammad (Sallal lahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) then said to Hazrat Abu Bakr, “You have told me something and Hazrat Abu Bakr did not tell me.” Hazrat Abu Bakr was embarrassed, and Hazrat Muhammad (Sallal lahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) reminded him of his words, saying, “But you have not told me the best part of this month.” When Hazrat Abu Bakr heard this from Hazrat Muhammad (Sallal lahu Alayhi Wa Sallam), he was very happy and he told Hazrat Muhammad (Sallal lahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) that he would tell him the best part.
